Koozie Giveaway!

I have some new stuff I've been working on...monogrammed koozie wraps. They wrap around your can or bottle and attach with velcro. Love these!...like this Hot Pink Polka Dot one!

And this Preppy Pink and Green Wrap! Never get confused again as to which drink is yours!

I will be giving one of these away with your 1 letter monogram on it...just leave a comment about what your favorite beverage to drink in the summer is. And I will pick a winner through random number generator on Wednesday, August 5th. If you don't have a blog, make sure you leave your email address. We are off for a fun-filled weekend of camping at the beach! Have a great weekend! FYI...I listed some other junk in my etsy shop. Go check out Today's Creative Blog. Kim featured lil ol me on her site.

Today she turns 6

Today, my little one turns 6. It seems like 6 is really becoming the BIG girl. Six is no longer a toddler or a kindergartner. She will be in 1st grade. And she is growing way too fast for my liking. At 6, she thinks she's as big as her sister. At 6, she wants to do everything herself. At 6, she still asks for doll cakes. As long as she asks for doll cakes...I will make them.

What you can buy with $5.50

These are a few of my yard sale finds. I stumbled upon a church yard sale and they told me they had just cleaned out this old lady's basement. I was hyperventilating with all the vintage wares.

like this pink vintage apron for $.25 There were 8 and I bought all 8 aprons for 25 cents each. You can still smell the flour from where...I'm sure she baked the best biscuits.

and this bread tin that was also $.25 I will use it in my studio to store stuff. I love the green patina color.

I found this Simply Shabby Chic king duvet with shams for $5.00 Do you ever feel guilty that you're getting a steal? Me neither. I'm participating in Southern Hospitality's Thrifty Treasures Party. Make sure you go check out the other treasures scored this weekend.

Bathroom Re-do

I knew this house had potential...I mean I liked sponge painting too...in the 90's! A can of paint is the cheapest and most dramatic change you can make to a room. Watch...I can prove it!

I just changed out the drawer pulls. Primed the bathroom and then painted it "Ocean Dream"...the same as my dining room. In the bathroom, the color looks more gray. Then used what I had to accessorize. Vintage pics of Hawaii, candles and a photo of our fam at the beach. I still want to hang something by the sink/lamp. I covered the lamp shade in burlap. I also want to put a frame around the mirror like Rhoda did here. And I've been debating about painting the cabinet black. Also, I need to change out the light fixture...thought about painting it black for the interim. I'm loving it right now, it makes me feel very calm.

Dining Room Sneak Peek

Just wanted to give you a peek at my newly painted dining room. It's a work in progress...in between swimming and all our other summer activities. Remember what it used to look like?

I'm not completely finished...and I'm so lame I forgot to take a picture of the table before painting it. So here is a picture of one of the other chairs I haven't finished yet.

And, yes, that is a matching buffet behind the chair. I'm pretty positive it's antique...and yes I'm spray painting it all black. Don't judge. I like PAINTED wood! And how about that seat cover? I covered the two end chairs in zebra fabric. I only had enough for those two. I'm thinkin' about covering the other four in painter's drop cloth and doing freezer art on the seats of some scrolly numbers or maybe our monogram??? I don't know yet. I'm just trying to use what I have. I did sell a bunch of furniture and some homeschool stuff to buy the dining set off craigslist. I painted the bottom of the dining room white and the top "Ocean Dream"...both from Lowes. This is my new favorite color. It is a gray-blue. I'm in love with it! Hope you're enjoying your summer!
