A New Stripper

When 7 year old's paint their nails by themselves. Why I don't buy an $800 table from Pottery Barn. The title was a little long. No, this is not about a stripper or a stripper pole. My daughter decided to paint her nails by herself, but she had to take the old polish off...by herself. So...of course and with the drop of a hat...acetone fingernail polish remover was spilled on my kitchen table. It took up 3 layers of paint and some varnish. Seriously? And we put this on our nails and skin? IT TAKES UP 3 LAYERS OF PAINT OFF A TABLE!

So, now I know if I'm ever in a bind for a stripper...I can just use acetone polish remover. I told her it was ok because I was going to paint the table white anyway. She just helped me get it started. Thank goodness this was a $20 thrift store find and it'll be good as new with a little paint! What have your kids done for you lately?

I've been getting emails about making slipcovers. And yall don't live near me...you have so much confidence in my slipcovering skillz! I absolutely have to measure your piece of furniture in order to slipcover it. This means you must live within a stone's throw of me. Sorry.

It got me to thinking though...about featuring all you gals who make slipcovers in other areas. Please email me if you make slipcovers for a living and want to make slipcovers for someone else. I would love to feature different slipcover gals.

Random Stuff and a Bag

I've been outta the loop lately...going to soccer tournaments, end of year parties, graduations, etc. Lots of busy stuff going on at the end of the school year. I did, however, find time to make this cute beach bag. I love the gray and orange ruffle! What have you made lately?

Did I fall off the face of the earth?

No, I didn't fall off the face of the earth. I had a short stint in the hospital last week, but everything is fine! I'm good. Just took some days off to recupe. My dr. told me not to lift anything over 5 pounds...does that include laundry baskets? My husband has told me repeatedly NOT to move or lift any furniture. Why is it when you want to rest, you can't? And when you're told to be a couch potato {per Dr.'s orders} you can think of 4,653 projects you need/want to do RIGHT now? Seriously...tell me to do something and I want to do the opposite. I was born with a slight rebellious side...my husband would say it's more than slight.

So I went to the library and picked up some books and while I was there, I found out it was National Photography month. So I'm going to read some southern chick lit, brush up on my french and practice my photography. I may or may not post for a bit...depends on if I'm allowed to lift my laptop ;0)

I'm going to regret not buying these end tables at $15/each. I couldn't justify it though after reading my friend's ebook...Seduced by Simplicity.
